Government has charged revenue collection agents in the state to double their efforts in collecting revenue to enable it fastrack the development of the state.

The General consultant for Abia state government Mr Mac Atasie who gave the charge while addressing Asepa Aba revenue adhoc staff led by Mr Friday Onyeigwe  charged  revenue staff to  drop the old method of collecting revenue and embrace the new digital method of revenue collection if they must meet the target of government.

He disclosed that a week training will be organized for them on the new technique of collecting revenue pointing out that this will enable the governor to  complete many ongoing projects in the state.

Addressing the revenue ad-hoc staff the Deputy General Manager ASEPA Aba, Chief Rowland Nwakanma restated the importance of revenue generation for government warned staff not to collect cash from the public but to distribute demand notices and direct their clients to pay into government coffers assuring  that government will reward them for their services without delay.

The ASEPA Deputy General Manager stressed the need for data collection pointing out that he will send his education department staff to all the zones to assist Board of internal revenue to establish a formidable data base for government in its revenue generation efforts.
