The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has commended the Provost Abia State College of Education Technical Arochukwu Dr Phillips Nto for judiciously applying funds from TETFUND for the development of the institution.
Vice president of ASUU, Prof Victor Osodeke who made the commendation when he paid a working visit to the college made it clear that Dr. Nto has executed many projects in the last five years that marked him out as an academic committed to the enhancement of tertiary education in Nigeria.
In his remarks, a member of the governing council Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike, Prof Jude Mbanasor expressed delight with the achievements of the provost, noting that Dr. Nto is known for high performance even in his days as a Commissioner for finance and commended the three unions in ASCETA for working in tandem with the provost for the sustained academic and infrastructural development of the institution.
Responding, Dr. Nto expressed joy over their words of encouragement and attributed the achievements recorded in Asceta in the last five years to the moral and financial support from Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
The provost who commended the unions and staff of the college for standing by him even in the midst of challenges pledged to do more for the institution and assured the erudite scholars that he would continue to be a good ambassador of MOUAU.
