Last week, the Abia Media Social Coverage with the theme: ‘’Abia Social Media for Good Governance’’ was held at the Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia.

Speaking at the event which attracted the presence of the Special Adviser to President Buhari on Media, Femi Adesina, the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the Executive Order on Compulsory Patronage of Locally Made Goods.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu last week inspected the progress of work at the Ovom Mechanic and Motor Spare Parts Industrial Cluster, Aba under construction.

Speaking, Governor Ikpeazu gave Mechanics and Motor Spare Parts Dealers scattered across the streets of Aba till 31st of May this year to move to the Ovom Mechanic and Motor Spare Parts Industrial Cluster.

The 2.1 Kilometer road constructed by the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing at the National Institute of Nigerian Languages, Aba, was commissioned last week.

Commissioning the roads, the Governor, Dr. Ikpeazu represented by his Deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for his decision to repair the internal road network as well as enhance its aesthetics.

The Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu also last week received a delegation of the Petroleum Equalization Fund Management Board led bu the Executie Secretary, Mr. Ahmed Bobboi at Government House, Umauahia.

Speaking, Governor Ikpeazu represented by his Deputy, Sir ude Oko Chukwu, assured of government’s preparedness to encourage relebvlant Institutions and Organizations that will ensure the avialbilility of gas for cooking and for automobile purpsoes

Speaking, Governor Ikpeazu represented by his Deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, called on parents, guardians and relevant stakeholders in the State to appeal to rampaging youths and protesters to stop further destruction of lives and properties.

The Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, during the week honoured five 2019 Batch B and C Corps Members who served meritoriously in the State with State Honours Award and cash prizes for their outstanding performances during their service year in the State.

Speaking while performing the ceremony, the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Chris Ezem, congratulated the awardees for achieving the feat despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Government also last week announced slight adjustment to the curfew imposed in Aba and Umuahia cities of the State to run between 6pm and 6am with effect from yesterday.

A release by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Onyebuchi Ememanka, said those on essential services are also exempted from the curfew regime.

Same last week, the State Government approved the resumption of all Schools from Nursery to Tertiary Institutions.

Statements on the decision directed all School Heads to ensure total compliance to all Covid-19 protocol.

The immediate past State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Late Sir Johnson Okebaram Onuigbo, was buried last week Wednesday at his hometown, Ugba Ibeku, Umuahia North Local Government Area.

Speaking at his funeral service, the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu described Late Sir Johnson Onuigbo as a fearless and courageous Leader, adding that despite all that happened in this year, God knows the best.
