Traditional Rulers in the state have called for the full implementation of the anti-open grazing law passed by the 6th Abia House of Assembly.
The traditional Rulers made their position known in an interview during the Flag -Off ceremony for the sensitization workshop against criminal activities in Abia State Communities held at Michael Okpara Auditorium Umuahia, noted that this will curtail the excesses of Herders across the state.

Baring their minds the Chairman Umuahia North Council of traditional Rulers Eze John Ibezim and Secretary Eze Innocent Nwaigwe commended the state government for its commitment towards achieving sustainable peace and security in the state .
Contributing, the traditional ruler of Ekeoba Kingdom Eze Iheanyichukwu Nwokenna and the traditional ruler of Okaiuga Nkwoegwu Eze Paul Uzuegbu who described the workshop as very important called on Government to create effective Industrial Clusters across the senatorial zones for the gainful engagement of Youths who have taken to crimes in various Communities as well as to fish out criminal elements among the real Headers for peaceful coexistence.
In their submissions, the traditional ruler of Umudiawa kingdom Eze Nnamdi Ofoegbu and the Leader of Hausa Community in the state Sarki Yaro Danladi urged Government to assist traditional Rulers with funds to enable them empower their Community Security outfits in the task of securing their localities from external attacks.
