The member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Chief Uko Nkole, has called on members of his constituency, Abians and indeed all South Easterners of voting age who have not acquired their permanent voter’s card to avail themselves of the ongoing online nationwide voter’s Registration exercise to acquire one, which will qualify them in the exercise of their Civic duty regarding all future Electoral processes, maintaining that failure to comply will amount to one disenfranchising self.
He therefore announced that his office has concluded plans to commence the education, enlightenment and mobilization of members of his constituency on the need to register and acquire their permanent voter’s cards (PVC), while calling on Leaders of various churches and organizations to join in the enlightenment campaign.
Hon. Nkole made the remarks to newsmen after their plenary in Abuja, used the occasion to commend the Independent National electoral commission (INEC) for the creation of additional polling units, and Expressed optimism that such exercise will assist in deepening and shaping our democracy by reducing all forms of electoral malpractice and ease the difficulties and challenges faced by electorates in accessing their polling units during election days, and assured that the present national assembly are working assiduously to pass the amended version of the electoral act which will help in no small measure in giving credence to the entire electoral process.
The Federal Lawmaker therefore used the occasion to give a pat on the back to the federal ministry of works for the completion and delivery of the Nmuri Bridge in Ohafia Local Government area which he attracted, and assured members of his constituency that efforts are on top gear to see the completion and delivery of similar ongoing road projects in the area like Ohafia-OzuAbam highway from the old soldier junction among others.
