Governor Ikpeazu gave the advice at the traditional marriage ceremony of Adaeze Ogbonnaya, daughter of Chief Charles Ogbonnaya and Chinedu Iroegbulam at the International Conference Center, Umuahia.
The State Chief executive who was the special guest of honor at the occasion stated that there is no perfect person hence couples should work towards achieving perfection in their marriages as the survival of their marriages rests with them.
He further enjoined them to emulate the footsteps of their parents whose marriages have stood the test of time adding that they should learn to tolerate and forgive each other at all times.
While charging their parents to give them a free hand as they have now assumed a new status. Dr. Ikpeazu prayed God for a successful married life and wished them well in their future endeavors.
In his speech, the Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District, Chief T. A. Orji expressed joy over the Union of the two families and wished the couple happy married life.
In their separate speeches, the Senate Minority Leader and Senator representing Abia South Zone, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, the Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Chief Chinedum Orji and a PDP Chieftain, Onyema Ugochukwu thanked God for cementing the Union and prayed God to bless the marriage.
Earlier, the Chairman on the occasion and the Traditional Prime Minister of Ibeku Land, Chief Uche Akwukwaegbu, expressed confidence that the marriage will be fruitful and implored the groom to take proper care of his wife.
