The Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has promised traders at the Ngwa Road Market, Aba, that no trader in the Market will pay extra money to retain their shops after the on-going construction.
The Governor who made the promise while inspecting the extent of work at the market, assured them that their shops will be handed back to them in the next five weeks.
Governor Ikpeazu also charged the contractor handling the reconstruction of the Market to do proper flood control in the Market as well as ensure that the project is delivered on schedule.
He also charged the contractor to do proper flood control in the market as to address the issue of flooding in the market.
The contractor, Dr. Uju Anosionwu, while conducting the Governor round the site earlier promised that the market will be ready in five weeks, assuring that measures have been taken to control flood in the market.
Our Government House Correspondent, Ezechukwu Adimoha, reports that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in company of the Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Okochukwu, the speaker Abia House of Assembly and other members of the House equally inspected the ongoing construction of Omuma Road, Aba.
