Parents have been urged to devote more time for the upbringing of their wards and children in order to create balance in their psychological and mental development.
The Director, Methodist Church Nigeria, Amaudo Itumbauzo Center for Mentally ill Destitutes, The Very Rev. Kenneth Nwaubani ,who gave the advice while featuring on BCA sponsored Programme: ‘’AMAUDO ITUMBAUZO MENTAL HALF HOUR’’ on the topic: “Family Bonding”, explained that family bonding reduces some of the violence and anti -social behaviour seen among Children.
Describing family bond as key to moulding a good society, the Cleric blamed the level of disconnection between parents and their wards on the quest for wealth.
In his contribution, a Consultant Psychiatrist, Dr. Chijioke Nwakanma called on communities to build resources that would be used to bridge the gap in the financial needs of the less privileged families.
