The Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu says his administration will continue to support and create a brighter future for Abia youths.
Governor Ikpeazu who stated this during the SME Start-Up Equipment Presentation Ceremony organized by the Coca-Cola Foundation for the Post Covid-19 Community Interventions Phase II held in Aba commended the Coca-Cola Foundation for their sustained support geared towards stemming infections in vulnerable communities across the nation.
The Governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Professor A.C.B Agbazuere, while commending the foundation for deploying a range of resources including capabilities, funds and products to support government, communities and local economies in their efforts at containing the spread and negative impact of Covid-19 pandemic on the economy urged the beneficiaries to put the equipment into good use.
Governor Ikpeazu further urged other companies to emulate the sterling qualities of the foundation assuring that his administration will continue to provide an enabling environment for business to thrive in the State.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Corporate Affairs Director of Coca-Cola, Mr. Ekumah Ese disclosed that the gesture was part of the company’s corporate social responsibilities adding that the foundation is committed to providing funding and other forms of support to boost the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises which have been badly hit by the covid-19 pandemic.
Mr. Ese noted that the foundation is leveraging on the experiences and capabilities the Coca-Cola Company has built over the years in serving customers, adding that the Company deploys its resources towards supporting government in her efforts at containing the spread of the pandemic and support vulnerable communities.
Correspondent, Ugochukwu Ahuchogu, reports that the event which featured the presentation of equipment including sewing machines, filing machines, shoe making tools among others, to the beneficiaries attracted the presence of the Chairman of Aba South Local Government Area, Mr. Clinton Ebere, Chief Security Officer to the Governor, Sir Emeka Ubani, Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Captain Awa Udonsi rtd among others Aides to the Governor.
