The wife of the Governor, Mrs. Nkechi lkpeazu, has kicked-off the spelling B, Quiz, Debate, Drama, Essay and Letter Writing Competitions among Primary and Secondary Schools in Ukwa West organized for Public and Private Schools in the council by the wife of the Chairman Ukwa West Local Government Area, Deaconess Orjiugo Okey kanu.

Speaking at the event, the wife of the Governor represented by the Chairman, Ugwunagbo Local Government Area, Mrs. Joy Nnanta, who kicked-off the competitions at Obehie Central School, Ukwa West, described Education as key to every facets in life and promised to partner the wife of the Chairman of the Council in the program.

In her remarks, the wife of the Chairman, Ukwa West Local Government Area, Deaconess Orjiugo Okey Kanu said that the essence of the competitions was to equip and enhance the scope of knowledge of Pupils and Students in Public and Private Schools in the Local Government and urged the Stakeholders in Asa to assist her in the program through scholarships and sponsoring of skills acquisition among others.

In their separate reactions, the Chairman, Ukwa West, Chief Okey Kanu, the Chairman on the occasion, Mr. Ogbuji Nnanna represented by Sir Eugene Dike and the Education Secretary, Ukwa West, Mrs. Olive Ukor, appreciated the wife of the Chairman, Ukwa West Local Government, Deaconess Orjiugo Okey Kanu for organizing the program for the Pupils and Students in the Council to enhance their knowledge.

Highlight was the unveiling of awards for the winners by the wife of the Chairman of the Council including cash of two hundred thousand naira and learning materials to be presented to the winner of First position, one hundred and fifty thousand naira and learning materials for the second position and one hundred thousand naira and learning materials for the third position while the competitions will end on twenty-fourth of this month.
