Christian Women and Organisations.

The Wife of the Governor, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu, has charged Christian Women and Organisations to join the government in the campaign against gender based violence in society.

Mrs. Ikpeazu who gave the charge at Banquet hall Umuobikwa in Obingwa Local Government Area during the visit of the Wife of the Prelate of the First African Church Mission enjoined mothers to build their homes with fear of God, inculcate in their children good norms and educate them to know their genotype.

The Wife of the Governor decried the spate of gender based violence and harped on the need for Christian women to contribute towards reduction of violence and abuse against the vulnerable in society.


She thanked the wife of the Prelate of the First African Church Mission for coming to the State for the occasion of their Mother’s Guild Conference being hosted in Isiala Ngwa North Diocese and wished them fruitful and peaceful stay.

In his remarks, the Member Representing Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Chief Ginger Onwusibe, thanked the Wife of the Governor, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu for granting audience to the wife of their Church’s Prelate and prayed God to bless her for her giant strides in promoting womenfolk, empowerment of women and Charity works to the less privilege in the society.

Speaking, the Wife of the Prelate of the First African Church Mission, Mrs. Mercy Matilukuro, said her visit to the Wife of the Governor was made possible by Chief Ginger Onwusibe and extolled the charity works of the Governor’s Wife to humanity.

She disclosed that their annual women conference hosted by the State is an event that enable them to deliberate on family, women, children as well as the growth of the Church.

Our Government House Correspondent, Vincent Okogbuo, reports that the Wife of the Prelate of the First African Church and her delegation presented to the Wife of the Governor, gifts of wrapper and Daily Devotional Booklet which attracted the Wife of the Deputy Governor, Lady Vivian Ude Okochukwu, among other top government officials in the office of the wife of the Governor that graced the occasion.
