The permanent secretary political affairs bureau office of the SSG sir Isaac Nwachukwu has called on christians not to be afraid when they pass through trials but unite themselves to God for victory.
Sir Nwachukwu who stated this while preaching sermon during the weekly morning devotion organised for staff of the office of the SSG maintained that trials are inevitable for believers citing Jesus Christ and the biblical Job as examples of those that passed through trials and at last achieved victory.
The permanent secretary who preached on the topic” the joy of suffering ” decried the rate at which many Christians today misinterprete trials to mean abandonment by God but pointed out that trials are stepping stones for greatness
He urged Christians as they observe the Lenten period to pray and fast as well as extend alms to the less privileged and also rededicate their lives to God.
Sir Nwachukwu used the opportunity to enjoin parents especially mothers to inculcated in their children good moral conduct to enable them become successful in life.
