Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has expressed extreme and profound sadness at the death of his Deputy Chief of Staff, Chief Ukpai Agwu Ukpai.
Governor Ikpeazu in a release endorsed by his Chief Press Secretary Onyebuchi Ememanka describes the sudden death of Chief Ukpai as perplexing having been with him throughout the build up to the House of Representatives elections held last weekend.
The Governor who described Chief Ukpai as “one of my closest personal friends and one of those whose close friendship with him predates his emergence as Governor” stated that his death has ‘robbed him of a genuine and true friend and brother”.
He further described “Chief Ukpai as a solid administrator, an astute political strategist, a grassroot political generalissimo and a deeply knowledgeable man whose views and deep thoughts on governance played huge roles in the stability of his administration and the PDP.
He regretted that Truly, Abia has lost one of her most dedicated political leaders and expressed deep personal condolences, of his family, government and people of Abia State to the wife of the Late Chief Ukpai, his children, the people of Ohafia Local Government Area, the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria and the PDP Abia State Chapter.
