It was an extremely solemn moment as Governor Okezie Ikpeazu paid a condolence visit to the family of his late Deputy Chief of Staff, Chief Ukpai Agwu Ukpai, who died few days ago.
Accompanied by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Chief. Chinedum Orji and some members of the State Executive Council, the Governor was briefed on the circumstances of the death of Chief Ukpai by the deceased physician, Dr. Eme Ajike.
Speaking, Governor Ikpeazu expressed deep grief at the demise of his bosom friend and long term political Associate.
He described the death of Chief Ukpai as a personal loss to him and his family, the PDP and the State in general
The Governor, who regretted that the suddenness of the death made it impossible for any kind of help to come from anyone, lamented that what came upon Chief Ukpai was well beyond any human intervention.
Governor Ikpeazu advised the widow and children of the Late Chief Ukpai to accept the difficult reality and take solace from the good life he lived.
Correspondent reports that prayers were said for the repose of the soul of the Late Chief Ukpai and after which the Governor signed the Condolence Register.
