The Wife of the Governor, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu, has charged Abia women to remain steadfast in prayers to reduce the prevalence of banditry and violence in the Country.
Mrs. Ikpeazu gave the charge at Unity Chapel, Government House, during the fasting and prayer programme she organized for Abia Women to end violence and draw divine protection in the State.
She said that it is time to draw nearer to God through prayers because of the increase of wickedness and insecurity in the land.
The Wife of the Governor urged the participants to always pray in their families and different corners in order to prevent all the evil plots of the wicked, adding that the present government is working hard to protect lives and property in the State.
In her sermon, the guest preacher, Mrs. Ngozi Onyeani, called on Abia women to use the opportunity to pray earnestly for their families, leaders, Church and the State for the good of all and commended the Wife of the Governor for the initiative.
Our Government House Correspondent, Vincent Okogbuo, reports that participants of the prayer session were drawn from different Churches and was attended by notable women across the State.
