The Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu has charged PDP Chairmen in the seventeen Local Government Areas of the State to brace up to the challenge of embarking on aggressive membership drive to ensure that Abia remain a formidable PDP State.
Sir Oko Chukwu who gave the charge when he received a delegation of Chairmen of PDP in the seventeen Local Government Area of the State at Government House, Umuahia said as PDP members, they are proud to be associated with the pragmatic leadership of Governor Okezie lkpeazu for his excellent performance in the state.
The Deputy Governor while congratulating the PDP Chairmen on their appointments reminded them that as foot soldiers and leaders in their various Local Government Areas, much is expected of them in terms of sustaining and winning more members into the PDP as well as ensuring that no member joins opposition parties.
He used the forum to commend them for their support especially towards the success of the Aba North and South Federal Constituency candidate for the House of Representatives, Chief Chimaobi Ebisike which gave credence to the fact that PDP has established a very stronghold that cannot be rivaled in the State.
Earlier in his speech, the leader of the delegation and PDP Chairman, Obingwa Local Government Area, Chief Seth Agomoh said they came to identify with the Deputy Governor for being a worthy role model that has contributed to the peaceful coexistence in governance and urged him to sustain his supportive role to his boss, Dr. Okezie lkpeazu in moving the State to greater heights.
Chief Agomoh who thanked the State Government for finding them fit to serve as PDP Chairmen urged the PDP leadership to see them as Partners in progress in their quest to ensure that there is peace among party members at the Ward and Local Government Areas and solicited an enabling environment and incentives to enable them work efficiently across the State.
