The Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, has described beauty pageants as veritable tools and avenues of enhancing the Tourism and Hospitality Industry in the State.
Sir Oko Chukwu who stated this when the organisers of Gees Concept Modeling Company presented the winner of the just concluded Miss Abia Beauty Contest, Miss Chikaodinaka Roseline to him at Government House, Umuahia, commended the organisers of the beauty event for bringing together young ladies to compete effectively and harness their potentials.
The Deputy Governor assured that Government will continue to provide an enabling environment and support for the Tourism and Hospitality Industry to thrive and meet up with National and International standards to enable it project and generate revenue for the State and appreciated the organisers for keeping to their terms of aggrement.
He congratulated the winner of the pageant, Miss Chikaodinaka Roseline for her efforts, urging her to be a worthy ambassador and promised to support her to make Nkporo Land and Abia proud.
Earlier in his remarks, the Organiser of Gees Concept Modeling Company, Mr. Felix Onuiri, who disclosed that the winner was presented with a star prize of a Toyota Solaris car, called for a task force to monitor activities of beauty pageants.
Responding, the winner of this year’s beauty pageant, Miss Chikaodinaka Roseline, expressed gratitude to God for making her dream come true and thanked the Deputy Governor, for his encouragement as well as the Organisers for providing the platform to showcase herself.
