Last week, the Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu received the forum of Abia State Nigerian Bar Association NBA chapters led by the Chairman, Samuel Nwosu at Government House Umuahia.
Speaking, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu said his administration is committed to the implementation of the financial autonomy for the Judiciary.
This year’s International Mother Earth Day with the theme ‘Restore our Earth was obswerved last week.
In a series of tweet on the event, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu made it clear that people can reverse the assault on mother earth by changing the way they live to avoid future generations suffering unimaginable consequencies.
Last week, the Governor Dr. Okekzie Ikpeazu directed the immediate sealing off of Easy on Petrol Station at Ngwa Road Aba.
In a release, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu said the directive is sequel to the incessant obstruction of construction work presently ongoing at Ngwa Road coupled with harrasments and physical assault of construction workers and staff of the Ministry of Environment who are engaged on the project by owners and workers of the said petrol station.
Same last week, the grand civic reception organized in honour of the immediate past Vice Chancellor Abia State University Uturu Professor Uche Ikonne by the people of Ukwa La Ngwa was held at Ngwa High School Aba.
Speaking at the event, the Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu assured that his administration will continue to celebrate excellent performance by Abians who have done well in their choswen fields.
The Deputy Govetrnor Sir Ude Okochukwu last week received a delegation of Chairmen of PDP in the seventeen Local Government Areas of the State at Government House Umuahia.
Addressing them, Sir Okochukwu charged them to brace up to the challenge of embarking on aggressive membership drive to ensure that the State remain a formidable PDP State.
The wife of the Governor Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu was last week decorated as the champion of family planning in the State by Abia Advocacy Care Group on Health and the challenged initiative on family planning.
Speaking Mrs. Ikpeazu said she is determined to ensure family planning succeeds in the State.
Last week, the fasting and prayer programme organized by the wife of the Governor for Abia Women to end violence and draw divine protection in the State was held.
Speaking during the programme, Mrs. Ikpeazu charged Abia women to remain steadfast in prayers to reduce the prevalence of banditry and violence in the Country.
And on a sad note, the body of the immediate past member representing Aba North and South Federal Constituency at the National Assembly Mr. Ossy Prestige was buried yesterday at his Abiriba Country home in Ohafia Local Government Area.
