Abia State midterm -long term development plan.

Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu says the Abia State midterm -long term development plan put in place by his administration is part of his plans to leave behind a standard master plan for the socio-economic development of the state.

Governor Ikpeazu who stated this after receiving Good Governance award from the University of Nigeria Alumni Association who called on him at Government House Umuahia, said he is currently working on a master plan for Aba and Ohafia.

Governor Ikpeazu who received the award with mixed- feelings based on the security situation across the Country, said he decided to accept the award based on the respect he has for the Famous citadel of learning.

He promised to partner the Association in their untiring efforts towards sustaining the academic standard already in existence in the institution, adding that the Brilliance being exhibit by members of the Alumni speaks volume of the quality stuff the institution is made up of.

In an address earlier, the national president, Sir Ben Okoronkwo represented by the national secretary Nze Samuel Nwarieaku said  the award was in recognition of the intimidating score cards of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in various sectors of the state economy.

He used the forum to invite Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to the 105th National Executive Council Meeting of the Association taking place in the state between tomorrow and 2nd May and lauded the Governor for his giant strides in the face of harsh economic reality.

The Association described as worthy of note the efforts of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu which led to the steady power supply in Ariaria international Market Aba in an effort to boost Trade, Commerce and Industry, adding that Abia Pensioners now have hope for their monthly pensions courtesy of the Welfare oriented Administration of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

Presenting the award on the Governor, the state Chairman Dr Franklin Orji said Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has done well so far in every sector which confered to the state the qualification to host the NEC meeting.

Our Correspondent Ezechukwu Adimoha reports that the Commissioner for Finance Dr Aham Uko, the Chairman ABSIEC, Professor Mkpa Agu Mkpa, the CMD FMC Umuahia among other top government functionaries were members of the Association present at the ceremony.
