The Abia State University Uturu Visitation Panel constituted by the State Governor and Visitor to the University Dr Okezie Ikpeazu to review the activities of the University from 2011-2020 has commenced its sitting at the University.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by the team in his office, the Vice- Chancellor ABSU Professor Onyemachi Ogbulu while welcoming them expressed appreciation to the Governor Ikpeazu for assembling such highly rated professionals, as members of the panel and assured of his administration’s support for success.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed optimism that the appraisal of the activities of the University by the panel will help to provide solutions to the challenges facing the Institution, as well as move it to the next level and urged them to carry out the assignment with high level of professionalism and objectivity.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Visitation panel and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria Chief J.U.K Igwe, explained that they have been working on the reports and papers received from groups and individuals since inauguration and now ready to move to the next stage of their assignment, which is the physical interaction with the various stakeholders.
In a vote of thanks, a member of the panel, Jude Udeachara appreciated the Vice-Chancellor for his warm reception and hospitality and commended Governor Ikpeazu for appointing him as the eight substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University.
It would be recalled that in November 2020, the Governor and visitor to the University Dr. Ikpeazu constituted a visitation panel for the University, which had Chief J.U.K Igwe as Chairman and Jude Udeachara, Sir Sam Onukwuo, Eze Love Nwogu, Chief(Mrs.) Victoria Akanwa, Dr Amachukwu Okezie and Mr Okechukwu Ihedioha as members.
