Political Office Aspirants.

Political Office Aspirants under the PDP have been charged to conduct themselves in civilized manner, in accordance with the Party’s Constitution and the National Electoral Act during their forthcoming Primary elections.

Addressing about two hundred Aspirants for the State House of Assembly, the House of Representatives, the Senate and Governorship seats in the state, during a meeting he held with them at the State PDP’s secretariat in Umuahia, the State chairman of the Party – Dr. Alwell Asiforo Okere disclosed that vacancies exist for only one Governorship seat, three senatorial seats, eight Federal House of Representative sets and twenty four sets for State House of Assembly.

He warned them against thuggery, campaign of calumny, giving out false information dis-regarding themselves and other Aspirants, as well as other forms of illegal activities that may jeopardize their chances of winning the primary elections and subsequent general elections.

The State PDP Chairman maintained that the state Working Committee of the party has not commissioned anybody or group to compile any list of 3-man adhoc delegates for the primary elections, adding that the party will be guided by the Party’s Constitution and Electoral Act in the conduct of the primary elections while a Disciplinary Committee will deal with defaulters of the primary elections, according to the provisions of the PDP Constitution.

In their responses on behalf of the various Political Office Aspirants, Mazi Sampson Orji, Colonel Austine Akobundu (Rtd), Prof. A.C.B. Agbazuere, Chief Amaobi Ogah, Chief Ginger Onwusibe, Ukpai Nnanna Orji and others thanked Dr. Asiforo Okere and members of the PDP state working committee for enlightening them on the conduct of their forthcoming primary elections and assured the party of a peaceful, orderly conduct of the primary elections while promising to support anyone that  wins among them in the primary to also win in the general elections.
