CHIEF OF STAFF TUC.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Okey Ahaiwe has assured of a more robust relationship between the state government and the labour unions in the days ahead.

Chief Ahaiwe who gave the assurance when he received in audience in his office, a delegation of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) Abia State Chapter led by the Chairman, Comrade Ihechi Eneogwe noted that Labour unions and the State government have enjoyed cordial relationship over the years and assured that the partnership would get even better.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor disclosed that despite the down turn in the nation’s economy, government has continued to carry Labour unions along, assuring that government would participate actively at the forthcoming 2022 Workers’ Day.

In his speech, the leader of the delegation and Chairman, Trade Union Congress (TUC) Abia State Chapter, Comrade Ihechi Eneogwe said Labour leaders came to congratulate him on his appointment as the Chief of Staff to the Governor, expressing the hope that his appointment would bring about a more robust relationship between the Labour unions and the government.

Comrade Eneogwe further used the opportunity to intimate and invite the Chief of Staff to the Governor to the forthcoming 2022 Workers’ Day celebration slated to hold on the first of May.

Also speaking, the immediate past TUC State Chairman, Comrade Sunny Onwunwa solicited greater partnership between the government and labour unions in the State, stressing that they are not enemies of government.

Correspondent Ugochukwu Ahuchogu reports that the  Commissioner for Housing, Chief Chinagorom Nwankpa, Permanent Secretary, Government House Umuahia, Mr Alozie Odoemela among other top government officials were present during the visit.
