The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has urged political parties to make drug integrity tests part of the screening requirements for aspirants seeking to contest various political offices in the 2023 elections on their platforms.

NDLEA Chairman, Brigadier General Buba Marwa, Retired, made the proposal while answering questions from Newsmen at the Agency’s national headquarters in Abuja.

Brigadier Marwa said this is necessary because being in a public office demands a lot of responsibility from the person, hence the need to ensure that such a person will not spend public fund on illicit drugs. He also highlighted some of the feats the agency has recorded in the last three months to include, arrest of over three thousand, five hundred suspects.
