Vicar Hope

The wife of the Governor, represented by the Vice President, VICAR HOPE FOUNDATION, Dr. Edith Nwosu, disclosed that the present government will continue to provide the enabling environment to all partners as well as ensure health care is accessible.

In his speech, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joes Osuji promised that the Ministry will not allow all achieved so far in family planning to be a flop when TCI leaves, and called on other partners to join them in building the health sector in the State.

Contributing, the Executive Secretary, Abia State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Chinagozi Adindu and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Deaconess Franca Ekwueme, noted that the Family Planning Programme has made impact in the lives of families, and revealed that TCI, under seventy-two hours established Family Planning Centres in some Local Government Areas.

In their remarks, the Executive Director, Gates Institute, Koji Lokko, and the Director TCI Nigeria, Dr. Victor Igharo, expressed hope that what has been established in the state will not be abandoned and thanked the state government for their support during the four year partnership.

In their goodwill messages, the Chairman Christian Association of Nigeria, Abia State, Apostle Emmanuel Agomuo, Chief Iman, of the State, Sheik Ali Ukiwo, Eze Patirck Ude, among others, thanked the TCI, especially the state focal person, Dr. Obase Sam for changing the narrative of Family Planning practice in the state.

Highlight of the event which had in attendance the Director General BCA, Sir Anyaso Anyaso represented by Director Television Service Department, Mrs. Ozioma Chike Ukaha, featured unveiling of TCI brochures, and award presentations.
