Peculiar women of Asa.

The wife of the Governor, Dr Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu has promised to assist the Peculiar women of Asa in various ways.

Dr Mrs Ikpeazu made the promise during the official launching of the Peculiar Women of Asa uniformskill acquisition center held at Chyvik Model Secondary School Obehie.

The wife of the Governor who was represented by the former Transition Committee Chairman Ukwa East Local Government Area Mrs.Stella Igbokwe thanked the wife of the Chairman of Ukwa West Local Government Area, Deaconess Orjiugo  Kanu for organizing Ukwa women  under one group for their welfare and described her  as a visionary leader and great philanthropist.

In her speech,the wife of the Chairman Ukwa West Local Government Area, Deaconess Orjiugo Kanu and the founder   of the Peculiar Women of Asa said that her vision is to establish an organization that will strengthen the unity of Asa Women,  enhance their welfare, inculcate the spirit of love among them and  uphold the girl Child right  in line with the vision of the wife of the state governor, Dr Mrs Nkechi  Ikpeazu.

Also speaking, the Chairman on the Occasion Mr. Innocent Ogbuji while handing over Corporate Affairs Commissions certificate of the Peculiar Women Of Asa to  Deaconess Orjiugo Kanu thanked her for her developmental strides which he said centered on the development of the women of Asa and called on all well-meaning sons as well as daughters of Asa land to  identify with the scheme.

In her welcome address earlier, the President, Peculiar Women of Asa Dr. (Mrs.) Stella Kanu thanked Deaconess Orjiugo  Kanu for the wonderful project which aimed at improving  the welfare of the less privileged, explaining  that the association is solely for the development and empowerment of  Asa women .

In a Vote of Thanks, the Chairman of Ukwa West Local Government Area, Chief Okey Kanu, thanked those  who contributed to the success of the occasion especially the wife of the State Governor.
