The Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has assured that the late Mrs Felicia Wabara, Wife of the former Senate President, Senator Adolphus Wabara will be given a State Funeral by the State Government.
Governor Ikpeazu gave this assurance today when he paid a Condolence Visit to Senator Wabara at his Country Home at Ohambele, Ndoki, Ukwa East Local Government Area.
The Governor regretted the death of the former number three woman in the country, stating that at this stage of the life of Senator Wabara, he needs his wife with whom he started life.
He recalled the strong supportive roles played by the Late Mrs Wabara throughout the different phases of the public service life of the former Senate President from a Council Chairman to becoming Nigeria’s Number three Citizen.
He urged Senator Wabara to accept the situation with fortitude as well as be strong for his children and grandchildren.
The Governor who assured that his administration will ensure that the Late Mrs Wabara will be given a State Funeral in recognition of her status directed his Chief of Staff, Chief Okey Ahiwe to immediately empanel a State Burial Committee for that purpose.
Responding, the former Senate President, Senator Adolphus Wabara thanked Governor ikpeazu for finding time to come and commiserate with him and his family at this difficult time, adding that he lost not just a wife but the pillar of his life who stood by him through the developmental stages of his life and providing him support and stability in his public service career.
He appreciated the Governor for his promise and conveyed the appreciation of his entire family to him and members of his entourage. The Governor was accompanied on the visit by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Christopher Enweremadu, the Chief of Staffto the Governor, Chief Okey Ahiwe, Elder Raymond Aliga, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mr. Tony Nwamuo, among others.
