The Commissioner for Post Basic Education, Sir Chijoke Mark has assured teachers in the state that the Government will continue to prioritize their welfare.
Sir Chijoke who gave the assurance while speaking with BCA correspondent Simeon Kalu shortly after monitoring compliance to school resumption in Aba described teaching as a noble Profession and enjoined them to align themselves with the policy and programs of the state Government geared toward enhancing effective teaching and learning.
The Post Basic Education Commissioner while identifying conducive environment as key to promoting quality education also disclosed that the State Government through the Ministry of Education has concluded plans to commence immediate shutdown of illegal and substandard Schools in the state.
He further expressed joy with the turnout of teachers and students in some schools visited and enjoined parents to release their children/wards to school as effective teaching and learning have commenced. The School monitoring exercise which attracted the presence of the Executive Secretary Secondary Management Board Mr Christopher Osuagwu and Directors of Post Basic Education also featured interaction between the Commissioner and the 2022 Supervisors of West African Examination Council.
