The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has confirmed that the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, will host the 2021/22 CAF Confederation Cup final on Friday, May, twentieth this year.
This is the first Inter-Continental major cup final to be hosted in Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
The Stadium is also home to Nigeria Professional Football League sides – Akwa United and Dakkada F. C.
Four teams remain in the race to win this year’s Confederation Cup with the first leg of the matches decided while the second leg of the semi-finals will be played this Sunday. Correspondent Francis Nwaubani reports that T. P. Mazembe of D.R. Congo lead by one – zero over R S Berkane of Morocco while Libya’s Al-Ahli Tripoli are zero – two behind Orlando Pirates of South Africa going into the second leg matches this weekend.
