The State Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has charged Matriculants of the Abia State College of Health Sciences and Management Technology Aba to consider themselves privileged to be trained as qualified Health and Environmental officers.

Governor Ikpeazu who gave the charge through the commissioner for Post Basic Education – Chief Chijioke Mark, while addressing the students at the 12th Matriculation Ceremony of the college in Aba, said discipline and hardwork are the required virtues for professionals to meet up with the global standard in the health sector, noting that his administration will continue to prioritize the health needs of its citizens including training the professionals.

Presenting an address, the Rector Abia State College of Health Sciences and Management Technology Aba, Prof Lawrence Chigbu, urged the new students to exhibit hardwork and dedication, pointing out the institution has zero tolerance for examination malpractice, cultism and other social vices.

Prof Chigbu who disclosed that the school has successfully completed its accreditation exercise said HND programmes are enlisted for NYSC, while students that succeeded after their HND will take their one month professional and licensing Examinations after.

Some Matriculants including Mr Bright Okeoma of the Community Health Department and Miss Uchechi Ude of the Public Health Department expressed joy over their admission into the institution and promised to be law abiding.

Our Aba zonal Correspondent Chinyere Francis Anyaogu reports that the Registrar of the College – Elder B. O. Ibendiogwu, administered the oath of allegiance on the one thousand five hundred and twenty eight Matriculants into the three Faculties and twelve Departments of the College.
