The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Dr. Eze Chikamnayo, has assured that the State Government will continue to support the growth of the Education Sector.
Dr. Chikamnayo who stated this in an interview with newsmen in Umuahia, also called on Abians to give all their support to the education friendly policies of the state government to ensure positive results.
He expressed happiness that Abia students occupied the first position in WAEC exams for many years and attributed it to the education friendly policies of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
The Commissioner said Governor Ikpeazu being a scholar in governance, knows the importance of laying good educational foundation for Abia youths adding that the Governor has brought his ingenuity to the sector, to enable Abia students excel, hence the establishment of model schools across the state and the constitution of the Abia State Scholarship Board.
He revealed that many Abia students have been sponsored by the state government to study courses of their choice in different foreign countries, adding that Tertiary Institutions in the state are also enjoying the support of the state government to perform optimally.
