COMMISSIONER FOR JUSTICE.

Former Councillors of the Seventeen Local Government Areas of the state whose tenure were affected by the dissolution of the councils on 16th June, 2006 by the former administration of Orji Uzor Kalu have been invited to the State Ministry of Justice tomorrow, to collect their monthly payment as agreed with the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in a meeting on 22nd March this year.
A release endorsed by the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the state, Chief Uche Ihediwa says venue is the Conference Hall of Ministry of Justice, Umuahia at eleven o’clock in the morning.
The release notes that the invitation only affects former Councillors who accepted the judgment in Industrial Court Suit No: NICN/37/2017 between Chigozie Eze and ORS v. Governor of Abia State and ORS as a basis for computation of their salaries and allowances as directed by Supreme Court in Appeal No: SC 209/2010, adding that they are to attend in person or with their Lawyers (for those represented by Lawyers).
According to the release, each Councillor should come with the payment Voucher issued to them by their respective Local Government Councils and a photo copy of their ID.
