The PDP Governorship candidate for Abia State, Professor Uche Ikonne has congratulated the State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and other PDP candidates who emerged victorious in the just concluded PDP primaries in the State.


Professor Ikonne made the commendation at his country home, Agburuike Nsulu, Isiala Ngwa North, when the people of Isiala Ngwa North paid him a solidarity visit in appreciation of his election as the PDP governorship candidate for the State.


He said Governor Ikpeazu has made remarkable achievements in infrastructure, human capacity development as well as sustained the peace and security in the State in which PDP and other parties conducted their primaries peacefully and expressed confidence that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu will replicate same gestures at the Red chambers next year for the people of Abia South Senatorial zone.


The PDP governorship flag-bearer for Abia appealed to those who lost at the PDP primaries not to leave the party, but join hands with those who will emerge victorious in next year’s general elections to build a progressive Abia.


He urged all eligible Abians to obtain their PVC to vote for PDP candidates in the forthcoming elections, and promised a special programme for Abia youths next year, if elected as governor of the State.


Earlier in their addresses, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Okey Ahaiwe, the Chairman, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area, Elder Chinwendu Ochulor, the PDP Local Government Area Chairman, Elder Sam Esindu, described Professor Uche Ikonne’s victory as a fulfilment of God’s promise to the people of Isiala Ngwa North and appealed to the people to work seriously to ensure its actualization by obtaining their voter card and vote for him.


Also speaking, the PDP House of Assembly candidate for Isiala Ngwa North, Chief Collins Iheonunekwu, the PDP Woman leader, Mrs. Justina Ikonne, Chief Armstrong Okoronkwo and the Secretary General Nsulu Vanguard, Sir Chinedu Ugoala promised to work assiduously to ensure that the people of Isiala Ngwa North vote massively for their son in next year’s elections.


BCA correspondent, reports that the solidarity visit which attracted many pro-groups, also witnessed the reception of decamped APGA members led by Chief Ebere Ihuoma into PDP family.
