INEC UPDATE.

Dr. Iloh encouraged Abians, especially those who recently turned eighteen years to avail themselves the opportunity of the ongoing continuous voter registration exercise and made it clear that it is only through registering and obtaining their permanent voter cards that they can vote during elections.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner, while advising those who have not collected their permanent voter cards to visit INEC offices across the seventeen Local Government Areas of the state to pick up their permanent voter cards, explained that the permanent vote card does not expire.

Dr. Iloh, who used the event to decorate the security man attached to him, Mr. Ikenna Nwagere, who was recently promoted to the rank of Inspector of Police, disclosed that the Commission is committed to conducting free, fair and credible election come 2023 with the signing into law of the new Electoral Act.

He announced that the on-going continuous voter registration exercise will be suspended on the 30th of this month, and commended the NGOs in the State for their efforts in assisting the Commission in mobilizing people for the exercise
