Government says it will partner a Non-Governmental Organization, “We Serve Humanity” (WESHNET), in enhancing Human Capacity Development for sustainable growth.
The Commissioner for Works, Elder Bob Ogu, who stated this when he received the members of WESHNET, in his office, made it clear that the partnership which will be of immense benefit to rural areas, will equally go a long way in reducing youth restiveness as well as encourage self-reliance.
Elder Ogu represented by the Permanent Secretary, Sunday Okpara, commended the Agency, and revealed that the gesture is in line with the Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu led administration’s vision to ensure that youths and women are gainfully employed.
He opined that the present administration has done a lot in improving the lot of Abia youth and women, while promising to channel their recommendations to the appropriate quarters.
In his remark, the NGO Coordinator, The Rev. Temple Uzodinma said the essence of their visit is to support the efforts of government in providing succor to the grass root in areas of human capacity building, technical skill acquisition training programmes, among others.
The Rev. Uzodinma also noted that human capacity development can only be achieved through collaboration, and thanked the commissioner and his management for the warm reception accorded them.
