FATHERS DAY CELEBRATION
At the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria,Emmanuel Mega Parish,Low-cost Housing Estate Umuahia, the Vice President Men’s Christian Association Elder Enyinnaya Anya has enjoined Christian fathers to serve God with holiness and diligence.
Elder Anya who gave the charge in a sermon to mark this year’s Father’s day celebration of the church, advised fathers to be agents of peace and desist from acts capable of undermining their chances as the heads of the family.
In his address the President Men’s Christian Association of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Emmanuel Mega Parish Low-cost Housing Estate Umuahia Elder Okoro Kanu reminded Christian fathers that serving as a royal father requires total dedication and commitment and enjoined them to always extend the hand of fellowship to those in need.
Speaking shortly after been honored with an award as the” 2022 Father of the Year and title of Ezinna in the church,Mr Chikezie Ukaha the Husband of Director Television Department in the BCA Mrs Ozioma Chike-Ukaha who dedicated the award to God, family, relatives and colleagues expressed gratitude to the church for finding him worthy and pledged his continuous support towards the growth and propagation of the gospel.
Also at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria Headquarter,Umuahia at NO 17 Abiriba Street,a Guest Preacher, the Rt Rev Ben Nze charged fathers to live exemplary lives wherever they found themselves.
The Rt Rev Nze who gave the charge in a sermon to mark 2022 Father’s Day Celebration of the church, attributed lack of understanding as a major cause of domesticviolence and enjoined Christian men to live lives worthy of Leaders of family and Society.
In his Exhortation the Minister incharge of the church,the Rev Dr Chinedu Okoroafor who highlighted the importance of serving as Royal Priesthoods, also enjoined fathers not to shy away from their God given responsibilities in the homes.
In an interview the Planning Committee Chairman of the Father’s day celebration, Comrade Prince Njoku Uka and Comrade Ogbonnaya Obike of Protocol Office Government House Umuahia expressed joy to be alive to witness this year’s father’s day celebration and described the theme of the event, Serving as a Royal Priest as timely and a call to service.
Correspondent Simeon Kalu reports that the highlights of the event was various presentations by the men and Award of honour to deserving Nigerians, while the ceremony attracted the presence of DG BCA Sir Anyaso Anyaso among others.
