Two suspected criminals, Chimaobi Kalu and David Orji residing in Aba and from Bende Local Government Area have been arrested by operatives of the State Police Command for killing one Mrs. Chimhurumnanya Udeh from Edda Ebonyi State.
Briefing journalists before parading the suspects at the State Police Headquarters Bende Road Umuahia, the State Commissioner of Police, Mrs. Janet Agbede advised the public to be security conscious at all times especially hotels, schools, churches, residential areas, business premises, recreation centres, while driving among others.
Mrs. Agbede disclosed that the suspects have arrested following a complaint ledged by a proprietor of a hotel in Ogbor Hill Aba that an unidentified female corpse with a sharp cut on her neck was found in one of his hotel rooms.
According to the report, the suspects who were said to have administered a drug of a mixture of Yoghurt and a drug on their victim stabbed her on the neck with a broken glass cup and escaped with her eleven months old baby boy which was sold for one hundred and fifty thousand to another suspect now at large.
In an interview the two suspects who confessed to the crime pleaded for leniency.
Our Correspondent, James Nmeribe reports that the parents of the deceased who could not control their tears appealed to the police to ensure arrest of the third suspect who escaped with their grandson.
