The Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has stressed the need for spiritual reawakening of religious organizations, and elders in the State, to ensure that kidnaping and other forms of insecurity are nipped in the bud.
Dr Ikpeazu stated this while addressing the Alaigbo Sunrise Prayer Crusade tagged “Abia Season of Liberation, Restoration, and Refreshment, “Organized by the East mandate global at the event centre, Okpara Square Umuahia.
Governor Ikpeazu represented by the Commissioner for Housing ,Elder Chinagorom Nwankpa described the programme as apt, owing to the incessant killing of citizens caused by the activities of bandits and herdsmen, urged Christians to pray without season especially now that the country is faced with all forms of insecurity challenges.
The state Chief Executive noted that his administration has taken the security of residents of the state as its first charge, and thanked the East mandated Global, Christian Association of Nigeria and other faith-based leaders for deeming it fit to pray for God’s intervention at this precarious time .
Earlier, the lead convener, Apostle Ofordile Nzimiro, while commending Governor Ikpeazu for his efforts so far in developing the state, urged the Governor to use the remaining days of his administration to continue bettering the lots of Abians.
