NATIONAL POPULATION

The National Population Commission has embarked on town hall meetings and a sensitization program for the 2023 trial Census, Population and Housing Census in the State.

Speaking during the Sensitization Visit in Osisioma Ngwa and Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area, the State Director, National Population Commission, Lady Adaku Ezebuiro noted that the trial Census will be conducted in all Enumeration Areas in one Local Government Area in each state across geo-political zones and called on the community leaders to give them maximum support to ensure the success of the exercise.

Lady Ezebuiro assured that the Commission will provide adequate security for the enumerators and their equipment during the exercise and encouraged the communities not to interfere in the exercise as allowing the enumerators to carry out their lawful duties will aid the exercise.

She thanked the community leaders and residents for aligning with the commission to get a successful and accurate 2023 trial Census, pointing out that the exercise will boost the developmental strides of the South Eastern States.

In his speech, the Secretary, Abia State Population Census Committee, Chief Charles Ama thanked the Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu for adding more value to the program and promised to ensure the conduct of quality census in the state.

In their Message, the Traditional Ruler of Alaukwu Umuoba Autonomous Community, Eze Friday Amanze and the Eze Elect of Amaitolu Osisioma Autonomous Community, Chief Nwadinma Austin promised to support the enumerators and called on everyone to ensure the success of the exercise.

In their remarks, the Chairman, Non-Indigenes Association in Abayi and Ahiaba, Osisioma, Mr. Paul Nwankwo and Sir Emmanuel Ogbonna described the exercise as apt and promised to accommodate the enumerators.
