The outgoing State Resident Electoral Commissioner Dr Joseph Iloh says the commission provided more machines and manpower to ensure that all eligible Abians registered before the expiration of the continuous voter registration extension.

Speaking during a send-forth organised for him by the staff of the commission, Dr Iloh encouraged all Abians that have turned 18 years of age to take advantage of the extension of the PVC registration to enable them to exercise their franchise in the 2023 general elections.

Dr Iloh while commending the staff and stakeholders for their support which enabled him to succeed as the Resident Electoral Commission in the state, encouraged the staff to continue to discharge their duties as required by the law.

The outgoing Electoral Commissioner disclosed that the commission has built the capacity of its personnel to adequately carry out the new system prescribed by the new electoral system.

He advised politicians to always play politics that is devoid of bitterness, noting that democracy has come to stay in Nigeria

Correspondent Ifeanyi Ogbonna that highpoint of the event was the presentation of gifts to the outgoing Electoral commissioner as well as encomium poured on him by the staff.
