‘No Going Back,’ ASUU Blames Labour Minister Ngige For Prolonged Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has blamed the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, for the prolonged strike.

ASUU National President, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke stated this yesterday, while briefing reporters in Abuja.

Mr. Osodeke insisted that ASUU will not back down on the strike by members of the Union across the country, which is currently in its fifth month.

Since the industrial action began, several negotiations between the Union and the Government have ended in deadlock.

Various individuals and groups have urged the Government to find a lasting solution to the crisis, amid outcry over the effect of the strike on tertiary institutions in the country.
