It was an atmosphere of joy and fulfilment as the people of Umuchieze, in Umunneochi Local Government Area gathered at Lokpaukwu community primary school to celebrate the completion of the construction of high tension line from Nkwoagu Isuochi to the substation located at Ijile obiulo Lekwesi which will be followed by the reticulation of public power supply to all parts of the community.
Speaking during the formal Presentation and celebration of Progress of work done on the project, the President General, Umuchieze Clan Development Union, Chief Victor Ogbukwe, recalled the untold hardship and suffering the absence of electricity has caused the people and appreciated the leaderships of Chieze Progressive Youths Association and Chieze Light Up for their vision and patriotism.
Chief Ogbukwe noted that the importance of electricity to socio economic life of the people cannot be overemphasized an appealed to good spirited Chieze people to assist in realising the reticulation of light round the area which is the final phase of the community-driven project.
In their remarks, the Chairman, Chieze Progressive Youths Association, Sir Jeo-Brown Nwankwo, represented by his Deputy, Prince Obinna Ude, a political stalwart, Mr. Ebere Nwankwo and Traditional Ruler, Amaoji Autonomous Community, Eze Abel Nwankwo, commended the people for the bold steps taken in realizing the electricity Project and enjoined them not to relent in Community development.
Also Speaking, Mr. Tony Akuma, Moses Okwuchukwu and Comrade Chris Egbu, described Community-driven Projects as strategic for enhancing development of Society and applauded Chieze Light up Coordinator, Comrade Kelechi Okorie as well as Chieze Progressive Youths Association for being partners in progress.
In his address, the Coordinator, Chieze Light Up Project, Comrade Kelechi Okorie, attributed the success recorded in realizing the electricity Project to love and team spirit exhibited by the Community and thanked God for attaining the goal.
