US COURT SENTENCES TWO FORMER POLICE OFFICERS TO PRISON OVER FLOYD’S MURDER.

The two former Minneapolis Police Officers, J. Alexander Kueng and Tou Thao who assisted in the fatal arrest of George Floyd have been sentenced on Federal Civil Rights charges.

Mr. Kueng and Mr. Thao were convicted in February of violating the unarmed black man’s Civil Rights by failing to provide care or intervene.

Reports say, Mr. Kueng will spend three years behind bars while Mr. Thao was sentenced to forty two months.

Mr. Thao, thirty six, and Mr. Kueng, twenty eight and a third officer, Thomas K. Lane, thirty nine, all of whom were present during the murder, were charged with showing deliberate indifference to Mr. Floyd’s serious mideical needs.

Mr. Floyd’s death, filmed by a bystander, led to global protests.
