The State House of Assembly presided over by the Speaker, Chief Chinedum Orji, has passed for first reading H.A.B 59: A bill for a law to establish the Abia State College of Nursing Sciences and for other Matters connected therewith.
The House at Plenary also adopted the motion by the Deputy Speaker, Chief Ifeanyi Uchendu on the urgent need for government’s intervention on the devastating gully erosion encroaching into some communities in Ohafia.
He prayed the House to mandate the Abia NEWMAP and the technical committee to visit the erosion sites for an on the spot assessment and subsequent inclusion in the priority list of the agency for urgent action.
The House was also put on notice of a motion H.A.M 19: Motion for immediate government intervention on the devastating gully erosion ravagingIhenwekeala autonomous community in Umuahia South Local Government Area as sponsored by Chief Jerry Uzosike of Umuahia South.
