The Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has called on Abians to support the Uche Ndi-Abia 2023 project, describing it as a divine project.

Governor Ikpeazu who stated this, when the four clans of Isiala Ngwa North led by the State Chairman, Abia Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Joseph Ndubuisi Nwabeke, paid him a thank-you visit at Government House Lodge, Aba, also charged them to work assiduously and in unity towards realizing Uche Ndi Abia 2023 project.

The Governor said that his choice of Prof. Uche Ikonne is based on Prof. Ikonne’s experience of competence and academic attainment.

He further described Prof. Ikonne as a technocrat who has the capacity to build on the solid foundation of infrastructural, human capacityand entrepreneurial developments his administration has laid and urged every Abian to rally round him to actualize his good vision for the State.

The State Chief Executive who harped on the need to sustain the solidarity of Ukwa La Ngwa nation, charged Prof. Uche Ikonne not to be discouraged by the challenges he might be encountering in pursuit of his project and assured him of the support of the people of Obingwa Local Government Area.

In his speech earlier, the State Chairman, Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Ndubuisi Nwabeke, said they came to show deep appreciation to Governor Ikpeazu for endorsing the election of Prof. Uche Ikonne as the State PDP Gubernatorial candidate, for next year’s governorship election.

Eze Nwabeke thanked the Governor for appointing some sons and daughters of isiala Ngwa North to various positions including three Commissioners, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, the Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, that of  Civil Service Commission as well as Chairman, State Council of Traditional Rulers, among others.

Also in their speeches, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Sir Christopher Enweremadu, the Commissioner for Works, Elder Bob Ogu, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Okey Ahaiwe and Chief Gaius Anyanwu, said the people of Isiala NgwaNorth will always remain grateful to Governor Ikpeazu for his benevolence to them.

In his remarks, the PDP Gubernatorial candidate for 2023 general election, Prof. Uche Ikonne, expressed his commitment to serve Abians.

He applauded Governor Ikpeazu’s intelligence and wisdom, adding that he has built legacies of unquantifiable achievements, promising to work for the unity and even development of the entire State. In a vote of thanks, the Local Government Chairman, Isiala Ngwa North, Elder Chinwendu Ochulor, thanked Governor Ikpeazu for the warm reception and assured him that the people of Isiala Ngwa North will work for the realization of Uche Ndi Abia 2023 project.
