The Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has charged members of the United Evangelical Church, Eziala Area Conference to remain consistent in fellowship and service to God.

Governor Ikpeazu who made the call at the United Evangelical Church, Mgbarakuma Ubakala in Umuahia South Local Government Area ,during the ninth  annual conference of the church, urged them to use the period to count their blessings and celebrate the grace of God upon the area conference.

The Governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Chief Okey Ahiwe, while congratulating the church on the successful hosting of their annual conference in the state, also thanked them for their prayers for the state and the present administration, which has seen them through every challenge.

The State Chief Executive further implored the church not to relent in praying for the continued peace and stability of the state and nation, especially now that the elections are by the corner, while promising that the state government will continue to partner  them in their programmes.

In his welcome address, the Chairman on the occasion, Elder O. C Onungwa, enjoined the church to explore all avenues to help eradicate laziness, carelessness, disloyalty to constituted authorities and lack of dedication from their system.

In their separate speeches, the Area Chairman, U.E.C Eziala Conference, the Rev. I.E Ogbonna and the Superintendent Minister, the Rev. John Adino commended Governor OkezieIkpeazu for the numerous developmental projects across the state, as well as prayed God to continue to give him the wisdom to   pilot the affairs of the state.

In their goodwill messages, the PDP gubernatorial candidate in next year’s election , Prof. Uche Ikonne represented by the Deputy Director General Uche Ndi Abia Campaign Organization, Chief Ud oIbeji,and the Chairman of Umuahia South LGA, Dr. Benson Humphrey represented by his Chief of Staff Mr. kelechi Nwosu thanked the church for their sustained prayers and for the quality roles they are playing in nation building.

Correspondent Ugochukwu Ahuchogu reports that the event which featured prayers for Gov. Ikpeazu and the state, song renditions and presentation of awards, attracted the presence of notable personalities including the DG BCA, Sir Anyaso Anyaso, represented by Comrade Chinkwe Ikenyi.
