The State PDP gubernatorial candidate for next year’s general elections, Professor Uche Ikonne has pledged to build strong systematic institutions that will sustain good governance in the State if elected as the State Governor.

Professor Ikonne made the promise when executive of Special Assistants and Senior Special Assistants to the Governor paid him solidarity visit in his Umuahia residence.

The State PDP flag bearer who renewed his pledge to build on the solid foundations the Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has laid on infrastructural, human capital and entrepreneurial developments, also promised to sustain continued payment of workers’ salaries and pensions, while stressing the need for workers to enhance their productive capacity for the growth of the State.

He further pledged to ensure participatory governance for the well-being of all Abians, and urged them to work towards the realization of Uche Ndi Abia project in the State.

Speaking earlier, the running mate for the State PDP flagbearer, Chief Okey Igwe said Professor Ikonne has the innovative ideas and wisdom that will build an Abia of every one’s dream.

Also in their speeches, the DG Uche Ndi Abia, Chief Chinedum Elechi and the Deputy DG, Chief Ibe Nwadioha, informed the group that the Uche Ndi Abia Project requires the contribution of every Abian and urged them to work assiduously for its success.

In their address earlier, the BOT chairman, for the Special Assistants and Senior Special Assistants, Chief Geoffrey Ukasonya and the President of the Group, Comrade Kingsley Ajala, said they came to show their solidarity for Uche Ndi Abia project 2023.

In a vote of thanks, the Director Special Duties for Uche Ndi Abia 2023, Dr. Ike Onyenweaku thanked the group for their visit and charged them not to relent on working for the success of the project come May 29, 2023.
