The General Manager Abia State Signage and Advertisement Agency (ABSAA) Mr Tony Otuonye says there is no Consolidated fee attached to any particular Political Party for displaying their billboard and outdoor campaign materials.
Mr. Otuonye who stated this while featuring in BCA Audience Participatory Program KOTA SIGN Co-anchored by a Former Commissioner for Environment Dr Ike Onyenwaku disclosed that, the money charged by the Agency to all Political Parties for displaying their billboard and outdoor campaign materials are approved by Law and it is in contrary to what they present for Approval.
He said the Agency was established by Law and adopts Professionalism in regulating activities of Political Parties in the state in ensuring they comply with the rules and regulations guiding the Agency.
The General Manager noted that the Agency is committed towards ensuring equal opportunity to all Political Parties in displaying their billboards and outdoor campaign materials while warning against imposters who go about placing derogatory and illegal statements which according to him is capable of undermining the existing peace in the state.
Mr. Otuonye Commended Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for his numerous developmental strides in the state and described the emergence of Prof Uche Ikonne as the PDP Governorship candidate in the next year’s general elections as a welcome development.
He further expressed optimism that if elected Prof Ikonne will bring his wealth of experience to bear in providing Abians the needed dividends of democracy and ensuring participatory governance by all and sundry.
Correspondent Simeon Kalu reports that some callers on the program called on Political Parties in the state to adhere strictly to the directives of the Agency for mutual benefit of all and Commended Mr. Otuonye for the good works he is doing in the state.
