The State Commissioner of Police, Mrs. Janet Agbede has warned individuals who withdrew their membership of the Police Community Relations Committee in the State to surrender the PCRC items such as ID Cards, Uniforms, Caps, Stationeries, Barrette among others in their possession to their Divisional Chairman in their own interest.
Mrs. Agbede, who gave the warning while addressing a cross-section of members of the Committee, Ikwuano Division during a security meeting said the warning has become necessary following these of such items to deceive unsuspecting members of the public and made it clear that any person arrested will be punished.
She lauded members of PCRC in the area, especially the Chairman of the Division, Mrs. Love Akobundu for their dogged efforts towards crime prevention and control in the area and advised them to be courageous and always conscious of their immediate environment.
In her remarks, the Divisional Chairman, Police Community Relations Committee Ikwuano Police Division, Mrs. Love Akobundu described PCRC as a voluntary organization that assists the police in the area of crime prevention and control and urged members to report to the police any suspicious movement in their environment.
Also speaking, a stakeholder and the Patron, of PCRC Ikwuano Division, Prince Okugo Okwu-Enyia assured that he will not relent in supporting and assisting the Nigeria Police force through the PCRC Ikwuano Division to ensure the security of lives and property of the people.
