GOVERNOR IKPEAZU DESCRIBES YOUTH AS CRITICAL PILLARS IN THE PROGRESS OF EVERY NATION.

The State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has described youths as critical pillars  in the progress of every Nation.

Dr Ikpeazu who stated this during the International Youth Day celebration organized by the State Ministry of Youths with the theme Intergenerational solidarity :  “creating a world  for all ages” at Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia.

The Governor represented by Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Dr Eze Chikamnayo  noted that his administration has been kind and helpful to the youths through  youth-oriented programs, pointing out that the State Government will always identify with youths while  training the youths remain one of the best ways to build up society.

He said   that the State Government will continue to carry the Youths along in the scheme of things and commended the Commissioner for youths Chief Charles Esonu for organizing the program which he said will go a long way to impacting positively on the  youths.

Speaking, the Chairman on the Occasion and the Abia Central Senatorial Candidate of the PDP, Colonel Austine Akobundu described the theme for the 2022 International Youth “Intergenerational Solidarity:,Creating a World for All Ages” as Apt and timely  and commended the State Government for embarking on programs that will Improve the lives of Abia youths

In his Message, The State PDP Governorship Candidate, Professor Uche Ikonne who was represented by the Deputy Governorship Candidate and  Member Representing Umunneochi State Contituency, Chief Okey Igwe noted that the administration of Professor Ikonne, if elected, will focus on the factors that will enhance the quality of Abia youths and called on the youths to always embark on activities that will improve their states.

 In his remarks, the Commissioner for Youths, Chief Charles Esonu noted that the program is targeted at recognizing the importance of youths in society, adding that the theme for the  2022 International Youth Day “Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a World for All Ages” is a direction to success as Government will continue to provide enabling environment for the activities of youth-oriented programs.

In a Vote of thanks, the State Chairman, National Youth Council, Comrade Smith Sylvanus thanked the Government for partnering the youths and assured them that Abia youths will continue to tow the rightful paths.

Correspondent reports that the event which featured cultural dances, presentation of songs also attracted the presence of many dignitaries in the State.
