Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike has described the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu as a dependable ally who has shown capacity by changing narratives in infrastructure in Abia.

Governor Wike who stated this while commissioning the first ever Osisioma Interchange conceptualized and completed by the administration of Dr. Ikpeazu and the newly reconstructed Aba-Owerri Road said he is proud to be associated with the Governor who he said has though many landmark projects justified his mandate despite lean resources available to the state.

The Rivers State Governor, who urged Governor Ikpeazu not to be distracted by the antics of enemies of good governance, noted that the good works of the Governor will pave way for the victory of all candidates of PDP in the 2023 general elections.               

Speaking earlier, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu said the Osisioma Interchange was borne out of his desire to promote free movement of goods and services in and out of Aba, the economic nerve center of the state, noting that the essence of governance is to serve the people by changing the narratives and making life better for the people. While noting that the projects will promote trade and commerce in  Aba and its environs, and  the State at large, Governor Ikpeazu  assured that the interchange will beget other projects.

He noted that the choice of Governor Wike to commission the project was to accord him his rightful position as the father of Flyovers in Nigeria currently.

Also speaking, the commissioner for works Elder Bob Ogu noted with joy that the project conceptualized by the Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu administration in 2017 has become a reality, adding that more people oriented projects will be realized before the end of his tenure in 2023.

In his remarks, the Chairman Osisioma Local Government Area, Chief Christian Kamalu while expressing gratitude to the Governor for the infrastructural development across the state, said the people are happy and will continue to remain loyal to the PDP led-administration.

Our government House correspondent, Ezechukwu Adimoha reports that the event attracted the Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, the Abia state PDP Governorship candidate, Professor Uche Ikonne and his running mate Chief Okey Igwe, National and state Assembly members of Abia and Rivers States, National Vice Chairman PDP South East Ali Odefa and his team, State PDP chairman Dr. Alwell Asiforo Okere, Members of the state executive council, chairman Abia state council of Traditional Rulers and host of others.
